The Story
Wembley, 30 July 1966. Geoff Hurst's hat-trick, the goal that may or may not have crossed the line, and Kenneth Wolstenholme's commentary as the crowd came onto the pitch. England 4, West Germany 2, after extra time — the only time it has happened.
The shirt is the plain 1966 design: no sponsor, no pattern, a crest and three lions and nothing else, in the way international shirts were made before anyone thought to decorate them.
Sizing
These shirts are designed with a snug retro fit. For the best experience, we recommend:
- 1 size up for a comfortable, regular fit.
- 2 sizes up for a relaxed, oversized retro look.
Details and Care
- Crafted entirely from 100% polyester material.
- The name and number are printed in the authentic design and layout from the original.
- For optimal condition we suggest hand-washing this garment – shirts featuring printed names and numbers should strictly be hand-washed.
- Let the shirt air dry naturally and avoid using a tumble dryer.
- Washing inside out also prevents printed elements from peeling.
